Favourites from Top Drawer January 2014
When exhibiting at a trade show one doesn't get a whole lot of time to wander around and have a look at all the lovely designs on show - unless you have scientist friends and have managed to get hold of a life-size clone of yourself! However, thanks to my wonderful assistant extraordinaire, I did manage a quick run round the greetings & stationery section of Top Drawer during the show. As well as firm favourites and friends including Jess Hogarth, Belly Button Designs and Abigail Warner, I also spotted a few companies whose work and stands I LOVED. Here are a few of them - starting with I Ended Up Here.
I Ended Up Here are an Autralian based company whose illustrations are super cute and playful - they do cards, prints, notebooks aswell as custom design ranges. Love their designs and hoping that they will be available in the UK very soon.
I also really loved the designs and stand from Lonetree. Founded by sisters Emma & Sarah, all the cards are produced with the environment in mind.
I think the most beautiful stand award (if there was one!) would have been awarded to the talented Imogen Owen! Her stand was adorned with paper flowers which just complimented her cards perfectly. (You can see more of her stand on her blog here). Imogen designs and prints everything in her letterpress studio in Leicestershire and her designs feature beautiful illustration and calligraphy.
Next on my favourites list was Pleased to Meet. This is a German company founded by Daniella and Marcel and all the products, which range from cards, wrap, accessories, calendars and prints, have the most divine illustrations and gorgeous colour pallettes.
Las but certainly not least on my favourites list is Becky Baur. Becky's lovely products which include greetings, ceramics, cushions ad stationery are stocked worldwide including the UK, France, Germany and Japan. Her style is naive and illustrative and I love the bold pallettes and mark marking.
